Ian Meyer

Ian Meyer is Head of Strategy for the Vattenfall heat networks business. With a wealth of experience in low carbon energy and infrastructure planning in both an engineering and a legal context, Ian supports the delivery of low carbon infrastructure and explores new opportunities for Vattenfall to decarbonise heat throughout the UK.

Following an engineering career in brownfield redevelopment and a private legal practice career in planning and Infrastructure, Ian has worked at Vattenfall since 2019 and is driven by a desire to deliver and decarbonise heating and cooling solutions at scale as part of achieving net zero, believing passionately that large-scale heat networks are a key part of the solution.

Ian is a strong advocate for the adoption of innovative delivery models for sustainable urban development across the UK. He is committed to decarbonising heat demand and providing meaningful, future-proofed infrastructure and is working with government and the wider sector to improve the market that low carbon district heating operates within.
