Dereck Armstrong

Dereck Armstrong is the Commercial Director of Elemental Energy, a UK-based engineering firm pioneering hydrogen-enabled energy solutions. Elemental Energy develops and deploys microgrid power systems and mobile hydrogen storage systems, helping industries transition to clean, reliable power. The company has delivered hydrogen solutions for the construction, industrial, and remote energy sectors in the UK, Europe and Southern Africa.

Before joining Elemental Energy, Dereck worked in energy infrastructure in Australia and was part of Fortescue’s hydrogen team working on development of a portfolio of projects across Africa. Prior to that, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, working in both South Africa and Australia, with a focus on energy and mining. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from INSEAD.
