Important Speaker Information 2024

Speaker Welcome
We are delighted to welcome you as a speaker this year at The Distributed Energy Show, 13 – 14 March, Telford International Centre, UK. Thank you for your support of this event.

This page has been designed to help you prepare for your speaking opportunity with us, so please take the time to explore it thoroughly. We trust all your questions will be answered, however, if this is not the case, please email our Conference Producer, Max Lewington, who will be happy to assist you: max.lewington@event-partners.com

The Top 5 Things You Need to Know Now!

  1. Your PowerPoint Presentation file must be prepared in On-screen show 16:9 format/ratio (widescreen), NOT On-screen show 4:3 – apologies, but we don’t permit the use of PDF’s, keynote files or your own laptop
  2. IMPORTANT DEADLINES TO ADHERE TO FOR THOSE GIVING A TALK:
    • DEADLINE  – TUESDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2024
      • You will need to submit your preliminary presentation file to max.lewington@event-partners.com for content and technical review
      • Please submit your presentation file in both PPT and PDF formats (to allow us to check for corporate/ non-standard font use)
      • What is content review? We will check your slides to make sure they address the topics/ points previously agreed
      • What is technical review?  We will check your slides to make sure they display/ navigate correctly and that any video/ audio/ animations you have included work
  3. N.B. sales/ product pitches are not permitted; we want to make this a constructive and enlightening conversation around shared challenges and developments. In our experience those sharing thought leadership will garner the best response from the audience.
  4. If you are using non-standard fonts (e.g. a corporate font), you MUST embed them into your presentation to make sure the fonts, layout, and styling of your file don’t change when viewed on a different device. Here’s how:
    • Click the File tab and then click Options
    • In the left column, select the Save tab
    • At the bottom, under Preserve fidelity when sharing this presentation, select the Embed fonts in the file check box
      • Also select Embed all characters (best for editing by other people) in this section
    • Select OK and save your file
  5. We will take care of your registration for the event – your badge will be emailed to you; we kindly ask you to print it prior to arrival, to fast track your entry/ minimise queuing onsite. Alternatively, it can be made available to you from one of the badge collection counters in the Hall 1 foyer
  6. You MUST visit the team in the Speaker Room (Ryton Suite, accessible from the concourse outside Hall 1) no less than 1 HOUR prior to the start of your session. We have concurrent tracks, so want to make sure we can meet personally with all speakers, well in advance
