STAND TYPES
INLINE STANDS

  • One open side
  • Are arranged in a straight line and will have neighbouring stands on the left and right side
  • Sometimes backing onto another inline row
  • From the standard height of 2.5m is allowed along the back and each side wall
CORNER STANDS

  • Two open sides
  • End stand in a row of linear stands
  • The side next to the aisle should remain open to allow for exposure
  • From the standard height of 2.5m is allowed along the back and side wall
PENINSULA STANDS

  • Three open sides
  • Backs onto another peninsula stand
  • From the standard height of 2.5m is allowed along the back wall
  • Enclosing side walls, if installed, must comply with the 50% rule*
ISLAND STANDS

  • Four open sides
  • Enclosing walls, if installed, must comply with the 50% rule*

*50% rule; enclosing walls (i.e., directly onto an aisle) must not exceed 50% length of the side of the stand and should be made to look interesting from the aisle/ to the neighbouring stands.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • All exhibitor contracts are for floor space only; all stands must have the applicable walls for the stand type and carpet/ flooring
  • Please use this exhibitor manual to place your orders for stand fittings and services
  • All stands must also have their company name and stand number displayed
    • If you are a stand package exhibitor, the official general services contractor can supply a fascia board
    • If you are a self-build or custom-build exhibitor, your company name and stand number will need to be incorporated into the design of your stand
  • Stand Package exhibitors must complete Compulsory Stand Form 1 no later than 30 January 2024
  • Self-build exhibitors must complete Compulsory Stand Form 2 no later than 16 January 2024
  • Custom-build exhibitors must complete Compulsory Stand Form 3 no later than 16 January 2024
  • ALL exhibitors must complete a Risk Assessment no later than 30 January 2024

BUILD HEIGHTS

  • Standard build height is 2.5m for stand package exhibitors
  • Maximum stand build height is 4m
  • Custom-build stands exceeding 4m will be classed as a complex structure and may be permissible, subject to certification by a qualified Structural Engineer

CARPET/ FLOORING

  • All stands must have carpet/ flooring
  • All carpets installed must comply with BS 4790, BFL S1 or CFL S1and be secured with appropriate carpet tape to ensure there is no slip/trip hazard and no damage to the fabric of the building
  • Raised flooring should include a wheelchair ramp with a gradient no greater than 1:12 ratio and a width no less than 1.5m
  • All carpet/ flooring to be removed and disposed of at the end of the event

CUSTOM-BUILD STANDS

  • You are welcome to appoint your own contractor to install your custom-build stand
  • You must ensure your contractor is familiar with the contents of the exhibitor manual and these display rules & regulations
  • The following documents must be submitted for review, by your contractor no later than 16 January 2024:
    • CDM – Construction Phase Plan
    • Construction Phase Risk assessment
    • Detailed Stand Plans/ Designs
    • Method Statement
    • Proof of Insurance
  • Authorisation to Build will only be issued upon receipt and review of all the documents required
  • To submit these documents, please do so using the Event Support Solutions Stand Design Inspection Form

HANGING BANNERS

  • Permission must be gained from the Organiser for all hanging banner installations
  • Banners to be hung by the in-house rigging provider only; self-rigging is not permitted
  • Hanging banners/ signs, double sided logos/ graphics may be displayed providing they are set back at least 1m from neighbouring stands
  • No advertising or logos are permitted to overlook a neighbouring stand

WALLS

  • All stands must have walls (apart from island stands)
  • Pop-up displays, roll-up banners, stand-alone graphics (e.g. tension fabric walls with frames) etc are not considered walling and must be accompanied by a custom-build or a stand package
  • Use of your neighbour’s walls is not permitted
  • The back of walls installed from a height of 2.5m are to be made good i.e., have clean, seamless, and neutral surfaces and be finished to a high standard
  • No branding to overlook a neighbouring stand and no wiring to be on show

COMPLEX STAND STRUCTURES

  • The following are deemed complex structures by the venue and subject to certification by a qualified Structural Engineer, at the expense of the exhibitor in question:
    • A multi-storey stand
    • Raised platforms over 600mm high
    • A stand where provision is made for a closely seated audience
    • Stand fittings exceeding 4 metres in height
    • A stand with a travel distance to a gangway greater than 50m without a choice of direction
    • A stand requiring foundations
    • Raised or tiered seating
    • Any element suspended from the permanent roof of the hall (i.e. rigging)
