Matthew Journee

Matthew is an experienced engineering and operations leader with a background spanning nuclear decommissioning, power generation, and high-speed electrical machines. Holding a BEng (Hons) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, he is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IMechE.

His career began in remote handling systems for the UK’s Magnox reactor decommissioning, followed by roles in power electronics, heat exchanger design, and combustion systems for micro-gas turbines and Stirling engines. He transitioned into new technology commercialisation, raising capital, building teams, and scaling companies from start-ups to publicly listed ventures.

Matthew has held senior leadership roles in high-growth technology firms, including Levistor, CropLogic, and James Fisher Nuclear. He has extensive experience in strategy, quality management, investor relations, and international business development. A strong advocate for innovation, he has led engineering teams, secured funding, and driven the commercialisation of novel technologies across multiple industries.
